Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot including angels, demons, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of characters who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the team enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to form the Seekers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which players will be assigned to which table in the season’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
